We had a fantastic stay at the Lambingan Villa! The resort had a fantastic atmosphere and the food was way above any expectations! We spent many hours at the friendly and sociable bar getting to know other guests and staff..... And Jojo opened our eyes to the fantastic world of diving and thanks to his relaxed teaching and attitude we even got our open water dive licence! Our kids enjoyed it just as much - and we will be back!!!

Spent approx. 1 week at Sangat dive resort. The stay were very pleasant because of the nice staff and the tremendous good food. The resort is not crowded even if it is fully booked. We enjoyed the huts, the restaurant, bar, poolroom, staff and of course the divecenter with the great guides. A special thanks to JoJo who opened our eyes for wrecks. A great stay, we will be back....for sure. SK?L!

Hi Andy, JoJo and the Sangat-Team,
now it's about 8 months we were at sangat. We are still thinking about the lovely holidays, we had at your resort. A beautiful place where you can relax, feel like in paradise and have first class dives. Thank you for the amazing time, we spent on your island.

We had a wonderful time (as no-divers) at sangat and even when we decided to stay longer, and this was at easter high season so spontaneously not possible, the staff & andy helped us out to find another great place to stay and even brought us there by their own yacht....

thanks again for everything

Just returned from a way too short stay at Sangat Island Resort - everything was great, but its the diving that stands out as being spectacular - amazing wrecks despite limited visibility during my time there! I have to come back for more wreck exploration asap! Thanks to especially Jojo + Andreas for great underwater (and over water) experiences ;o) See you again!

Im glad to have contacted Sangat Island Reserve that coincide with our first visit to Coron back in 2007.
I keep coming back to Coron largely due to fond memories provided by this resort as well as their accomodating staff.

Sangat Island Resort surely compliment the many wonderful places that one can visit in Coron.

We all had a great, great time. The kids are still talking about the hot springs, corals, the nasty jelly fish (unfortunate incident) and the Banca rides.

My best compliments to Andy & staff, everything is well run.

We hope we can return one day.

Experience:
A little piece of heaven. We wanted to finish our first trip to Palawan in style, and we weren't disappointed. Sangat, underwater and above water 'ticked' all our boxes. The resort is well run by attentive, exceptionally friendly and efficient staff and of course the dogs! The cottages are clean and comfortable, and the standard alot higher than our other experiences. The food was excellent; varied, fresh and plentiful. This is a resort where you can do as little or as much as you like at your own pace. Snorkeling and diving were both excellent, made even more pleasureable by JoJo and his team :O) A special 'Thank you' to our 'Sunshine'
We'll be back!

Even though we spent only one day there, I will always remember that heaven on earth. Great atmosphere, great beach and good snorkelling. Watching the monkeys in the early morning was interesting. Cottages are marvellous and food was yummy. We were welcomed by a happy staff and a real coconut to drink. Andy was kind enough to offer us visiting Culion where we spent 2 hours walking in the streets of this beatiful small island town. Thank you for keeping this small piece of paradise as natural as possible for the next generations.

Experience:
Our stay in Sangat Island was full of enriching and wonderful experiences that made it a very special visit! It was there that we completed our last two training dives on the WWII shipwrecks, which certified us as open water divers--and that wouldn't have been possible if not for our kind and very patient instructor, Jojo. He was very considerate and taught us well.

There were other people there who were so kind to us during our stay on the island--Luma, the Visayan cook, who prepared fantastic meals, Elsie with her smile and humor, Brian the cool bartender, and the resort owner, Andy. They were all very accommodating, warm and friendly. Andy and everyone on the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable.

Aside from diving, we had a great time snorkeling and an awesome jet-ski tour. Caloy, our jet-ski guide, won?t forget us as he had the time of his life witnessing Riz's "spectacular" jet-ski driving skills ;-). He was a fun and skillful guide. We explored the mangrove forests along with several other great sights.

Sangat Island is a wonderful experience. The Lambingan villa and private beach, in fact the entire resort setting, are truly unique. We had fun traversing the hanging bridge, and kayaking back and forth. There are many reasons why Sangat Island will remain very special in our hearts. We have many fond memories of our stay there and hope to return someday.

Absolute paradise! Amazing diving, staff, food, and just an all around good time. It's so secluded, and when you're there it just feels like you could stay there forever and relax on the beach. Everyone that works there is extremely nice and honorable. I've never felt so at ease anywhere else. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

My stay at Sangat was the best vacation I have ever had. It was perfect; from the location, the activities, the lodging, and especially the staff. My 7 days on the island would not be the same without the friendly, fun, and big-hearted staff. Luma, the chef cooked great meals and was a pleasure to talk to every night. Brian, the bar tender, was very funny and entertaining. He definitely gives Sangat Island a fun personality. Annalynn, the bartender was lovely and gracious when she beats me in pool. JoJo, Elsie, and Bing were wonder dive masters who are also a pleasure to hang out with. Ro-anne, the hostess, was very informative and made sure everything went smoothly. The rest of the staff always had a smile on their faces and made me feel like I was family.

I will definitely come back in the future and will refer all my friends and family to this beautiful resort.

We had a lovely time at Sangat, once again. We really did enjoy ourselves and wonder why we didn't stay longer.

The two storey villa we stayed in on the private beach was an amazing experience. We've stayed in some of the best and most luxurious hotels in the world and can honestly say it was the nicest place we have ever lodged at!

To add, the chef is amazing. You are serving your best food yet!

Will be back for more wreck diving.

We had the fortune to be there during Christmas week. We have dive plenty around SE Asia, and this is the best diving vacation we have had. The reason? Everything. The resort is great with a beautiful and quiet setting. Andy and his staff have done a great job building and maintaining Sangat, congratulations. Jojo is a great diving instructor and took great care of us, along with Elsie, and the rest of the diving staff. Just awesome diving not only the wrecks, but some reefs as well. All of which are within a 15 min. ride from the resort. We had the fortune that our kids were able to spend time with Andy's girls and Jojo's daughter as well as other kids related to the staff. What a great bunch of kids, very very courteous, with beautiful smiles, just a happy bunch. Trully appreciate that they have become good friends with our kids.
The food, wow! Trully of a 5 star restaurant, fresh and super delicious! Another blessing for us is that we got to have lechon three times! But the seafood was also to die for. Of course, we gained some weight, but well worth it. Just a great for all of us. We can't wait to get back to Sangat and do more exploration of the islands and wrecks. Finally, the dive safari was also unique, our own yacht with our own cook, the best cook and now good friend. Luma won our hearts right away, and our taste buds just couldn't resist her food. What a great service exploring further and only the four of us with our guide. Highly recommend it. Just wish we had turned on the AC at night in the boat as we did not get much of a breeze during the night. But it did not matter, we loved the trip. Thank you Andy for an unforgettable vacation, amongst the top for us. We look forward to coming back in the near future. Cheers

a great unspoilt and beautiful small size resort to chill out and learn everything on scubadiving with Bing, Joe Joe and Elsie, patient and thorough guides to our first steps into scuba diving. you will dive to spot unparalled reefs everywhere, with stunning shipwrecks. we loved the eco friendly bungalows, the food, the billiard-pool, plenty good drinks at the bar and very friendly atmosphere. One will shortly feel more belonging to a community than a client of a standard resort.
Actually, i am just nervous the word spreads out too fast about this pristine island and surroundings area, so hussh!!
kudos all around

Experience:
Sangat is simply one of the most beautiful Island Resorts around. There is only one resort on Sangat Island and it feels like one has returned to Paradise. The setting and views absolutely cannot be beat. The bungalows are comfortable, and the food is good (and I am picky). I have done a lot of diving and the wreck diving here is unique in my experience. It is not for the inexperienced and it is vastly preferable to be nitrox certified since the dives are relatively deep and square. The dives are often penetration dives that spend quiet a lot of time in the interior of the ships. Passages are occassionally narrow and dark. The dive team, however, is very competent and quickly puts one completely at ease. Also, one should be aware that Sangat Island is at least half an hour closer to the wrecks than any location in Coron Town. If you come to Sangat, you will not be disappointed.

Experience:
Sangat was a true Paradise, everything we hoped for when we booked our stay there: small, intimate resort, not ridiculously luxurious, ecologically conscious (it feels like a park almost), great food and plenty ice cold beers. There was enough to do to feel quite busy relaxing and diving. The service was excellent, but not in your face, which is a great balance.

Speaking of the diving: this is the perfect place for wreck diving. Imagine 180 meter wrecks at 50 to 130 feet depths (we entered one wreck at 95 feet through the pitch black hole of the prop shaft - adrenaline anyone?), schools of jacks, large Spanish mackerel, beautiful lion fish, more scorpion fish and nudibranch than you can imagine, healthy reefs, and good visibility. The diving was spectacular.

Overall, I hope to have the opportunity to return one day. For now I recommend Sangat to everyone else.

Thanks for a fantastic time on Sangat, it was a holiday to remember i have to say and i will be back for sure. You have an amazing place there and its is a perfect balance of solitude if you want it, a selection of activities if you want them and just enough people to have a good evening sat around the bar. The exclusivity of the resort is also just right with it being to much hassle for alot of people to be bothered with to get there and priced right to make it affordable but not too cheap that any tom dick and harry can stay there. Its perfect just the way it is. I have made alot of people jeleous over here on my return and hope to bring back a bunch of about 6 or 8 next time.

Cheers, Graham,

Hi Andy,
late but still we want to sign in your guest book. Returned safely back to Moscow and business got us back in the meantime. The weather here make our memories and pictures look a bit "unreal" even... - It has been a wonderful stay on Sangat. Even for non-divers like us a place to hide away and calm down, simply relax in paradise and forget the world out there. The food is absolutely phantastic (no exaggeration) and I hope your cook get's a salary rise (don't cut that this part out when posting in your guest book). The bar is well equiped and every drink got approved.
Take care out there and I wish you always nice guests who appreciate the nature and place out there, regards to Georgo!

Sangat is paradise on earth. You commune with nature amidst lush foliage and environmental preservation. You will completely be transported to what nature can best offer-- surrounded by clear blue waters, monkey, hornbills, hotspring, etc. At the same time there is history in shipwreck diving. Its truly amazing that there is still such a place here on earth as beautiful as Sangat. Not to mention that it is the safest place in the philippines for there are virtually no typhoons, earthquakes and other natural calamities. The is almost nil natural calamities. Keep the place nice and beautiful.

Just arrived home safe & sound. Hope your were able to get Shadow's stitches out without any problems. Most of the puppies were looking better by the time we left, were you able to find homes for them? Some of the hospital staff in Culion were looking for pups.

Also I want to thank you for how well we were taking care of at Sangat Island Reserve ,The location was beautiful the staff were great, the food was superb and the diving was out of this world and health permitting will be looking forward to coming back again.

Hi Andy,

We were disappointed that we didn't have the opportunity to meet you and tell you in person how great a time we had during our stay on Sangat Island. The staff, facilities and accommodations were all wonderful and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

We are beginner divers, and were able to complete our 5th through 10th dive with Ebing as our very patient guide and with JoeJoe and Elsie always there giving us encouragement and support.

What was especially nice was that our inexperience was never an issue, everyone was very helpful and we learned a lot and now feel we are better divers because of it.

So thank you for building such a great team and helping to make our stay in Palawan so enjoyable.

Sincerely,

BJ Patnode

We had a beautiful time in your resort, my boyfriend was so impressed, it's one of those places where you wanted to go back and experience everything all over again.

Nice food (the closest thing I had to "lutong bahay"), very accomodating staff, from the boatman to the kitchen cook.

An awsome beach and snorkeling in the coral garden was like swimming inside a natural aquarium, I was lucky enough to see some dolphins playing around.

My regards to Anina and Shadow.

Still, 5 years after visiting Sangat Island, I can´t forget the lovely island.

Me and my wife up every morning 6.00. 2 cups of coffee from the restaurant and our morning swim, surrounded by colorful fish.

Walking back to our hut, meeting big varans and naughty monkeys. Relaxing in the sound of the rolling sea.

I wish I will be back some day.

Just want to send a quick email that I had a lovely stay in the resort. Nice food, nice people and great diving. Even if you are a single lady traveller like me it's a great place to stay.

Hope it stopped raining? That the dogs are ok and that you didn't have any exciting night dives with angry pearl fishers anymore.

Say hi to Jo Jo and who knows maybe you see me back one day

A quick note to say a big thank you for looking after me so well while I was on Sangat. You run a really tight ship there and, while many resorts start like that, few manage to keep it up so well.

Phenomenally good diving. I've just come off the phone to the editor of DIVE Magazine in the UK who is now champing at the bit to get hold of the article about Sangat.

So please send my best wishes to Jo Jo, Elsie and your staff and I'll keep you posted as to when the article will come out.
